How to Become a Follower of Jesus
Lives centered on the Gospel of Christ

Becoming a follower of Jesus is not about becoming religious, joining a church, or trying to get your life cleaned up first. It is about coming to Jesus just as you are and putting your trust in Him.
The Bible says that all of us have sinned (Romans 3:23). We have all gone our own way, and our sin separates us from God. But God loves us so much that He sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for our sins and rise again so we could be forgiven and have new life (Romans 5:8; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4).
So what do you do? You turn to Jesus. The Bible says to repent and believe the gospel (Mark 1:15). That means you stop running your own life, turn from your sin, and put your faith in Jesus. You trust that He is who He says He is, that He died for you, and that He alone can save you (Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 10:9).
When you do that, Jesus forgives you, changes you, and makes you a child of God (John 1:12; 2 Corinthians 5:17). Following Him is not just a one-time moment. It is the start of a whole new life with Him.
The good news is this: you can come to Jesus right now. You do not have to have it all together. You do not need perfect words. You can simply be honest with Him. Tell Him you know you have sinned. Tell Him you believe in Him. Ask Him to forgive you, save you, and take over your life. The Bible says, “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13).

“Jesus, I know I need You. I know I have sinned, and I ask You to forgive me. I believe You died for me and rose again. Today I turn from my sin and put my trust in You. Save me, change me, and help me follow You from this day forward. Amen.”
There is nothing magic about those exact words. What matters is your heart. If you truly turn to Jesus in faith, He will receive you.
After that, start talking to Him, start reading the Bible, and start following what He says. That is where the new life begins.
